Growing up under very strict parents made certain things a weapon, which they used to discipline us. African parents are famous for being disciplinarians, they make sure they put you in your place each time you mess up.

Putting you in your place they needed somethings to do so, this made them turn a lot of things into weapons which they use to do so. Back then I used to think they hated me, now I am a grown up and I realized they were only trying to put me on the right track.

My siblings and I nicknamed everything my parents used to discipline us, we talk about it right before them 😂 and they won't even know. Childhood was fun for sure.

They used a lot of things but I will be outlining a few of them in subsequent paragraphs:

Spatula.

The spatula is also called the brain resetting machine 🤣, mostly used on the head and once it hits the head you see the kid doing right. Once they start doing the right thing like it's expected of them, it automatically means their brains have been reset 😂.

The spatula is mostly used by the female parent, my mom did not make use of the spatula often but, she did use it on me at least thrice.

A Belt.

The belt is mostly used by the male parent, we call it the sound maker, we called it that because of the sound it makes whenever it comes in contact with your body. After the sound maker is used on you, you cannot help but do as instructed for the next two or three weeks 😂.

The sound maker makes you to dance to their tune for a week or more 🤣, you can't help but do as you are told each time you remember how it sounded when the belt touched your skin 😂.

A Shoe.

We called this one a bullet, often used by mom when you are far from her she throws a shoe at you. One funny thing is she hardly miss her target 😂, I wonder if she is a sniper.

The shoe helps her to cover the distance, once you are target she becomes the Hitman 🤣.

Conclusion.

In a nutshell, growing up under strict parents almost made childhood boring for me, today each time I remember some incidents I just laugh at myself and thank God for growth.

I will be bringing more your way, stat tuned.
