"Do you know why that house is always empty and no one ever wants to move into the house and live in it for long like the rest of us have been living in our houses for months and even years?" Joshua asked us, pointing at a house I believe everyone has questions about.

It has been a few months since my family and I moved into a new neighborhood, but a particular house did not go unnoticed since we moved into the neighborhood. Since we moved into the neighborhood, at least 3 other families have moved into the house and moved out without even waiting for their rent to expire. The house looked pretty nice and expensive from the outside, and the fact that none of the occupants could last more than a month was really a cause to worry, but we had no one to ask why people keep moving in and moving out of the house.

They move in and introduce themselves as your new neighbors and how pleased they are to be living amongst us, and then two weeks later they are moving out. No explanation why; they just move like they are actually running away from something or someone. They gave them a deadline to move or face some repercussion because that is the only reason people will be in such a hurry to leave a house they paid for.

They don't ask for help from neighbors; rather, they just pay a company to get everything done for them, and they just immediately leave the house. The same as they met it, we kept seeing these things happen, but it felt like going to ask questions would look like prying into people's private lives, so my family had to hold back. We have lived in the neighborhood for at least 7 months, but at least 3 different families have moved in and out of that particular apartment, and I wonder if they were refunded or given somewhere else to live in.

"No, bro, my family and I have been wondering why. Those that move into the house also move out without even explaining why or saying why they are leaving; they just leave without any word." I responded and was really happy to finally hear the story behind the house.

"I have lived in this neighborhood all my life, and I can tell you for free that there is more to this neighborhood than what actually meets the eyes." Joshua said, and at this point I could feel goosebumps all over my body.

"Bro, you are making it sound really spooky; just say what happened already and stop sounding like all these old men that tell horror movie stores to kids in movies." Emmanuel shouted as he tapped Joshua on the back of his head as they too just moved into the neighborhood, and he also wanted the story as bad as I wanted it.

"It is believed that there is a spirit trapped in that house, and whoever moves into the house is tormented by the spirit until they eventually move out and let the house be for the spirit." Joshua said

"How did you people confirm it was a spirit? You are sure this story was exaggerated or told to scare you guys as kids?" I asked.

"The story was not exaggerated, bro; it is a real-life story, bro. If only the gates were opened, I would have taken you guys in so you would see some spooky things, and I wonder why those who move into the house ignore those things and proceed to move in." Joshua responded

"That is one spooky story, bro. "It sounds really exaggerated, but the fact that I have seen people move in and move out makes it convincing," Emmanuel chipped in.

"It's like you just learned the word spooky; you keep saying it whenever opportunity presents itself." Joshua teased as we all burst into laughter.

After the story from Joshua, I got my answers for why people move in and move out without wasting time. I got my answers, but it stirred up something inside of me. Whenever I pass by the house, the way I feel changes; I get goosebumps all over me, and a chilly breeze blows once I approach the house. I cannot say if it was just my mindset that was making me feel that way whenever I passed by the house, but it started a few days after Joshua's story, and it was quite spooky, and I avoided passing there alone.
