TGI Friday Fam. Are you ready for some weekend? Looks like we’ve made it to another end of another bizarro week in the Simulatrix.
This morning we fall victim to another operating system, “update.” So of course the whole rig is running slower than it was yesterday. It’s like when you go to the doctors office and they talk you into getting a jab, and you’re sick the next day. If you know, and you’re still standing, you feckin’ know.
So we’re opening up our Mind Cafes this morning, (that means posting links and stuff), and the comp just freezes up. We press, “post,” and “freeze frame.” Control, alt delete, is a no go. Hard shut down. Turn the thing off and back on again.
Whenever this happens, I go right back to the Google car analogy. It’s probably not relevant. And it’s certainly an exaggeration, but I envision it nonetheless. You’re driving on the freeway in your Teadan, and there’s this slow clunky gas guzzler in front of you. You’re gonna, “blow their doors off.” (That’s old school muscle car speak for passing very quickly.) So you do whatever you do to make your electric Google-mobile go faster, and it freezes.
Why?
Because the feckin’ car-pooter is updating! (TypeError: Network request failed.) Your car won’t go.
By the way, the error message is real, the scenario is a fantasy. Ignorance allows us to laugh heartily at the world. But it also allows the whirled to scare us to death. Choose wisely.
Today we have our Hepdekad Update available on all of the regular channels. We don’t promote it, per se. Arguably this mention is promotion. But we don’t really hype it. It’s a more of a personal series. 30 minutes, (that will eliminate a large portion of viewers), of musings, ideas, fitness accomplishments and strategies, health & wellness challenges and tracking how the vessel is healing itself, segments on how the neighborhood is changing. It’s a strange vibration. The knee-jerk evaluation is “gentrification,” but it’s not the “gentry” (well born), that are being lured here. (At least that’s how it appears through the vagabond demographer’s lens.) It’s more like “youngification.” We’re seeing more young couples with children, and the older, Cubanistas are being eased out. Or just dying off. But, we digress. As usual.
We’ve mentioned the psychological profile. Just for kicks, we asked three chat-bots to perform a psychological profile on Noxsoma, based on our, “social media footprint.” The responses were very interesting. We will share the first one today, on the audio. (Audio only. It’ll be something special.)
Welcome back. The second eval is a little bit longer. We’ll share that one when we update the Summer Audio series. Personally, I, meaning the collective, find it fascinating to learn what an arguably objective, (yet still biased by design), AI model kicks back based on a digital identity, hashtags, and how thoroughly it digs into your ideas. Words and sentences and essays and stuff, are like, thoughts frozen in time. Like a photograph. One, 250th of a second, and there you are. Maybe smiling. Maybe caught on camera shoplifting, or presenting your newborn to the world. Your essay, your comment, your meme, captures what? A reaction? A wise crack? A thoughtful mental emission? An opinion? Righteous sarcasm? Can such brain droppings be held against you in the future? Can a tool, that wasn’t around at the time of your meltdown objectively, “empathetically” and fairly consider your mood, motivation and inspiration at the time?
No. (Not just no, Hell no!)
You’re flagged as a psychopath. Shunned by the “community” and banished like a witch in a Grimm fairy tale.
We write these “almost daily” musings with the realization that they might do us in. But also, there’s this sliver of quadrastanding that this envity has always been just slightly ahead of the curve. And that this trash may be some future generation’s treasures. Even if it’s only for a laugh or two. Maybe you can laugh you way into enlightenment.
