We often talk about adopted cats, here in Italy it seems like there is a real emergency, the catteries are full, there are litters everywhere and the volunteers are unable to cope with everything by rightly asking for help and donations and by sterilizing the cats for free to prevent a further excess of kittens, often however the small cats fortunately find a home, who doesn't want an adorable little kitten to raise?

The problem arises however when elderly cats remain homeless for a thousand reasons, often the owner can no longer take care of them or has passed away, so they are taken to the cattery where unfortunately they often remain especially if they have health problems and the funds are often not enough to care for all the cats. Here when you adopt an elderly cat the adoption is called adoption of the heart to mean that whoever adopts an elderly cat has a big heart. Personally I adopted chiccha, my old lady with extreme ease, fortunately she has never had major health problems.

Unfortunately I understand those who decide not to adopt an elderly cat, the reasons can be many, fear of costs and care, difficulty of the cat to adapt, fear of losing it prematurely, difficulty with the character of a large cat, I understand the difficulties but I also believe adopting an elderly cat is a wealth and a noble gesture to make a cat feel good and let him live an old age outside the cages of the cattery.

Buenas noches hivers hoy quiero hablaros de un tema muy querido para mí que concierne a nuestros amigos felinos y ¿qué mejor momento para hablar de ello que el sábado? A menudo oímos hablar de gatos adoptados, aquí en Italia parece que hay una verdadera emergencia, los criaderos están llenos, hay camadas por todas partes y los voluntarios no pueden hacer frente a todo, con razón piden ayuda y donaciones y esterilizan a los gatos de forma gratuita para evitar un mayor exceso de gatitos, pero a menudo los pequeños gatos afortunadamente encuentran un hogar, ¿quién no quiere un adorable gatito para criar? El problema surge sin embargo cuando los gatos mayores se quedan sin hogar por mil motivos, muchas veces el dueño ya no puede cuidar de ellos o ha fallecido, por lo que son llevados a un criadero donde desgraciadamente suelen permanecer sobre todo si tienen problemas de salud y muchas veces los fondos no son suficientes para cuidar a todos los gatos.

Unfortunately there are many obstacles to adopting an older cat but I hope that there will be more and more adoptions and maybe a reduction or discounts for veterinary services which are very expensive so maybe people would adopt older cats or cats with pathologies more often.

Aquí cuando se adopta un gato mayor la adopción se llama adopción del corazón para significar que quien adopta un gato mayor tiene un gran corazón. Personalmente adopté a Chickcha, mi vieja, con suma facilidad, por suerte nunca ha tenido grandes problemas de salud. Lamentablemente entiendo a aquellos que deciden no adoptar un gato mayor, las razones pueden ser muchas, miedo a los costos y cuidados, dificultad para que el gato se adapte, miedo a perderlo prematuramente, dificultad con el carácter de un gato grande, entiendo las dificultades pero también creo adoptar un gato mayor es una riqueza y un gesto noble para hacer sentir bien a un gato y dejarlo vivir una vejez fuera de las jaulas del criadero.

Desgraciadamente hay muchos obstáculos para adoptar un gato mayor pero espero que haya cada vez más adopciones y quizá alguna reducción o descuentos en los servicios veterinarios que son muy caros para que quizá la gente adopte con más frecuencia gatos mayores o gatos con patologías.
