A walk and dinner in San Mommè, lovely moments./Un paseo y una cena en San Mommè: momentos encantadores. ❤️❤️
Good evening, blog friends—how are you all doing? I’ve been quite busy as usual, but here I am to tell you a bit about my weekend. On Saturday, I went to visit a friend who recently went through a breakup and needed some comfort. She lives in a small mountain village called San Mommè—a place I’ve mentioned often, as I used to visit it frequently. It was lovely to return after nearly a year; it’s a small but truly beautiful village, and autumn is arguably the best time to visit. The leaves on the trees are starting to turn yellow—though, thanks to the heat, this year’s autumn is a bit strange and late; in the city, the trees are still completely green! The surrounding landscape is filled with beautiful autumnal colors. There’s also a little church—which closes during the autumn and winter months but remains a lovely sight—as well as some wonderful tree-lined paths. In fact, before heading to dinner, we took a long walk through the village, and it was such a pleasant experience.
My friend invited us over for dinner; she’s an excellent cook. After our walk, we spent the evening at her place chatting while she whipped up some real treats—pasta with a soy-based ragù (which she makes perfectly) and stir-fried vegetables with tofu. She’s a vegetarian, but I can assure you that the way she cooks, you never even miss the meat! She’s a true chef—in fact, she’s even worked in professional kitchens. We spent the whole evening eating and talking, and I think our company really cheered her up. She also gave us a wonderful gift: when her ex-boyfriend moved out, he left behind a lot of meat in the freezer and pantry, and she gave it all to us—pork chops, various cuts of pork and chicken, tripe, canned meat in aspic, tuna, and beef steaks. She practically filled up two shelves of our freezer—it was such a generous gift! Anyway, I’m off now, my blog friends—time to go relax a bit!
