Good day my fellow hivians, it's a beautiful Sunday and I want to believe we are all having a great day and a relaxing weekend 馃槉.
So from the table of Hive learners community, the topic below was choosen to attend to and I will sincerely take you through my plans as a child and how far I have gone as an adult.
Adult Life (Good thing & Bad thing)
As a child we all had great plans while growing up about how our adult life would be. Some of us might have gotten that dream life, but circumstances did not allow many others the chance. So, tell us just one thing you love and enjoy about your adult life and one thing you wish you can change if you had the power.
Growing up as a child was not bird of roses馃尮 for me and my siblings. We were not born with silver spoon and so we had to struggle to survive in every aspect of our lives. However, I thank God for how far our story has changed for good, we may not have gotten where we wished to be but in everything, I am grateful to God.
Having passed through lots of struggles in life as a child, I had a plan of living a luxury lifestyle as an adult.
As a girl child then, I had plans of getting married to a wealthy man, kind, handsome, generous etc . A man that will help me live that comfortable life I couldn't get during my childhood. A man that will assist me in giving my children that comfortable life my siblings and I didn't experience due to my parents financial status. I couldn't count how many times I used to admire some comfortable family then with their kids and right from then, I promised myself to work hard for a better future for myself and my future children.
So later in life when I grew to a stage of getting married, I started having different suitors. No doubt I had 3 wealthy suitors, very rich guys but I never loved any of them. I mean what is marriage without love? My mom gave my sisters and I some marriage counseling and I understand that in as much as I admire a good wealthy man, my first priority must be a man that I love. At the end of the day, I got married to my husband though not that wealthy but we are comfortable and peaceful and that I appreciate.
One thing I love and enjoy about my adult life is that I have a peaceful home and I give my children that comfortable life to some an extent which my parents couldn't give me then. I may not have gotten that type of luxury lifestyle I wished but I am very grateful for where I am today and working hard for a better tommorow.
One thing I wish to change if I had the power
When my Dad was alive, he told me one day that he intentionally gave me my name "Nkem" which means "mine" because of my future husband. He said with a smile that any man that will marry me may not have to look further for a pet name rather he should use my name 馃ぉ馃ぉ. How I wish he is still alive to see how my husband uses it judiciously unknowingly to him. If given the power, I wish to bring my Dad back to life.
