People are quick to judge others simply by what they see on the surface. The feeling of being misunderstood by someone without caring to know your side of the story can be sad and annoying, but it happens.

People wake up and form an opinion about you without knowing the fact; it's painful, really. However, I have come to the realization that whether we like it or not, people will always have their own opinions about us regardless of how much they know us; that's humans for you.

Now, let's imagine that you met someone who dressed in a very simple or casual outfit and spoke in a low tone. It's very easy to assume that the person doesn't have much to offer, and then later, you discover that the said person is even more knowledgeable and financially comfortable than you ever imagined. That's why they said, "Never judge a book by its cover," and you know what? Life can humble us in ways we never expected. 馃榾 馃槈

Life has taught me that people don't always know the battles we are fighting within or perhaps the reasons behind our decisions sometimes, and so they will wrongly assume that we are lazy or not committed simply because we aren't meeting up to their expectations. Most of these people wouldn't come close to you to ask why this or that but will only conclude whatever they wish without knowing that inside, you are dealing with a whole lot.

I am the type of person that, whatever organization I decide to join or whatever position I accept to take,I make sure to stay committed and relevant. I can sacrifice a lot just to be sure that I give my best. People know me for this and will always notice my absence whenever I am off for a day.

But at one point, my son's health challenge became so bad that I visited the neurology clinic back-to-back. I forgot about my position in the church first to attend to my son until he is stable. This lasted for some months. Now, instead of some people responsibly asking why I stopped doing my work, they assumed that ever since my husband got a big contract, I no longer cared about church and the activities. Coming from people who know how humble I can be, I was disappointed hearing the gossip.

People just stay afar and judge your matter; it's terrible. However, I have learned not to waste too much of my time and energy trying to prove myself to everyone because do they even deserve it? I see those kinds of people as a bunch of irresponsible adults! It's fine if people have assumed wrongly about me; without any benefit of doubt, but sincerely, the experience hurts!
