There is a particular season I find so hard to cope with in my country, and that's the season of extreme heat. Permit me to say that it's always frustrating, and the situation leaves me unnecessarily angry and aggressive. 馃う Sometimes, I wonder if the sun is angry with us over here, but it is what it is, lol.

Recently, the heat has been unbearable; even with AC and a fan, it's still blowing hot air. The news is flying up and down about how many people are suffering from heat stroke already. The temperature is too high, and even chicken rearers are complaining of how often they lose their chicken to the heat. Farmers too are complaining, and I am even scared that soon, we will start suffering from a higher cost of food again, more than how it is currently.

Even when I take my bath, I can hardly enjoy that fresh feeling for some time, because within a short time, I will find myself sweating again. Even when I am seated doing nothing, the sweat still finds its way to my body, and it's confusing already. Like, what manner of heat season is this?

My three boys too complain a lot about how uncomfortable they feel with the weather currently, and this is not something to easily ignore. It's already a problem NOT to have a comfortable night's sleep. A lot of the time, we just have to endure the heat as it unfolds and pray that the weather becomes better very soon.

Here in my country, we have been experiencing the heat season, but the news of El Ni帽o, a climate pattern that can affect both the temperatures and rainfall in different parts of the world, came, and I feel it is what triggered the heat season to be this super extreme, making every activity quite uncomfortable.

However, there are some steps I started taking in order to make this season bearable for my family and me:

First, I ensure that we drink enough water to stay hydrated in this hot weather. This period, my kids go to school with extra water bottles, and they finish them before coming home. Yeah, it's very important this season.

Again, wearing light clothes is a must; no longer choosing the more beautiful outfit while going out but choosing our wears according the weather and also taking a bath when necessary.

In this period too, I am quite intentional with ventilation; my windows are always open, and I fixed all the window nets in my home to be sure mosquitoes wouldn't creep in to cause nuisance in the process.

Heat can queitly drain energy, and I hope this season ends so!
