It was today I saw a message from @hivebuzz about my 5th birthday on Hive. I was like, "Wow, half a decade in this space?" How time flies indeed. I am currently sitting on the same couch I sat on 5 years ago to register my account on Hive as I type this text.
I can vividly recall how I was navigating the whole registration and account setup with my cousin brother, who introduced me to this platform. I could recall the many questions I was throwing to him about the journey I was about to begin. Due to the fact that he came all the way from Ibadan, Lagos State, Nigeria, where I reside, just to help me register my Hive account, he made sure I wrote my introduction post that same day and published it before he traveled back.
I didn't even know where to start writing. I told him I hated writing long articles. How did you think Hive would be good for me? He said, "Aunty, you are a nursing mother, and this is a suitable platform to be a while nursing your child and earning some cash to support your family." He encouraged me a lot and gave me tips on how to approach developing my write-ups. It was a great heads-up from him, and I really cherish the sacrifice he made for me.
It's been five years of many experiences on the hive. I passed through the newbies initiative program and was opportune to train others too for two good years collaborating with starstrings on hive , although he is no longer on Hive for now. I can boldly say that it was my little impact from me on this chain, and I am happy for the students that were under me back then, especially those that are still active to date. I received lots of testimony from them about the goodness of Hive in their lives.
For the past five years, I have been connecting with many people in this space, including those across the globe, learning and sharing experiences together; it's a win-win. Honestly, I can't thank God enough for bringing Hive my way through my cousin. Hive has been my rescue to date; even with the current value, it still puts food on my table no matter how little, and I cherish that a lot in our harsh economy where many things aren't working. I can't thank God enough for the knowledge and exposure I have gotten here so far and still going.
If I look around my house, I see hive. I see some properties, and I know it was possible with my hive earnings, my kids' school fees, their drugs, clothes, and shoes. Just Name it!....
Thank you, Hive. Thank you all, my friends and communities, who are the reason why I am still active. Thanks for the many supports, both in upvotes and meaningful engagements; they have kept me going.
All I can say in this milestone is that I am super grateful.
Long live Hive! 🎉🎊💃🎉🎉🔥💃
