The year 2025 is about to begin and perhaps it is the right time to take a look at the steps we have taken this year and the lessons that 2024 has left us. Personally, it has been a strong, hard year, because I lived through the death of my nephew due to bone cancer, which destroyed him in three painful months. This painful experience took away a part of me, the one who thought she was happy 24 hours a day, to give way to a quieter, more restrained and even sad Nancy.
Also, without a doubt, this experience served to make me realize that we are not immortal, that life is a second, that we are stronger in adversity and even if at a moment we feel we have no strength, love for others makes us brave and invincible.
As an inhabitant of a country, I was also overwhelmed by hope and I embraced a wave of faith and optimism that I still maintain. As I keep the flame of early freedom, of the end of this dark moment we have had to live. I cling to that lit match that although with minimal light, clarifies and illusions.
As a teacher, I have discovered that in this year I have been one more student of life, perhaps not the most dedicated, perhaps not the most exempt, but the most curious, the most restless, the one who asks all the time: Why and what for, even if I do not get an answer.
I must admit that I learned to lower my head, to be strong, to endure crying before the eyes of the weakest. I learned to be a shoulder, a rock, a lighthouse, a lamp, a rudder, food. I learned to be silent, to kneel down and pray not for myself, but for others. I learned to think with a cool head, to be patient, but I also learned to accept that I am weak.
I am learning to accept that only God has the reins of our destiny and only he knows why things happen. I am learning to kiss more, hug more, express more: it is useless to accumulate love for someone if we do not give it in life, because after death, no way.
This 2024 is ending and there are only hours left for the year 2025 to begin, so I wish that the spark that inspires and inspires you, remains. May you accomplish everything you set out to do: remember that it is not about wanting, but about working for the things you want. Every path is traveled with daily steps and reaching a goal requires time and effort. I wish abundance and prosperity for you, for everyone. And when I ask, I wish for you, but also the words and wishes go for me. May God bless us all.
