This is my post for #freewriters Friday prompt bullfrog hosted by 
Who can have a pet frog and not name him Jeremiah? He is not a bullfrog but I am sure he wishes he was. I can not hear the word bullfrog without singing "Jeremiah was a bullfrog he was a good friend of mine, I never understood a word he said but I helped him drink his wine" that is all I can remember, there was something about him having good wine. For those who have never heard it, it was sung by Three Dog Night.
Anyway, we have these little green tree frogs that like to hang out on our windows and glass door. But we also have these big Cuban frogs that are not very nice to the little green tree frogs. One evening there was one of each on the window by where my husband has his computer and the Cuban frog reached over and knocked the little green tree frog off of the window. He is not a bullfrog but he is a bully frog.
Today after getting my blood work taken, we went to the cheap food store and we hit it at the right time.
We filled two carts and spent $24.61. All cases of fruits and veggies were 2 for 99 cents. we bought 2 cases of yellow bell peppers, 2 cases of blueberries, 2 cases of fennel, 2 cases of packaged sliced apples, 2 cases of mangos, 2 cases of avocados, they had celery for this price but we did not want 2 cases of it, so we opted for 4 batches for .59 cents, we also got 4 cauliflower heads for .59 cents. They had watermelons for 99 cents. My husband wanted to get 4 of them so he could give them to family but said since they only had about 20 of them he felt like others might want to buy them and he did not want to seem greedy. He had just said that when a guy walked up to them and put every one of them in his cart. We figured he must be going to sell them at a profit. It shows that trying to be nice is a thing of the past. We also bought broccoli, Brussel sprouts, and a bunch of other things.
It filled the back of his truck. We gave the people at the fish house some, my husband's brother and sister some, his sister's daughter some, and some to our daughter. The bell peppers that we had left I cut up and placed them on a cookie sheet and put them in the freezer until they froze then put them in zip-lock bags, this way when I need them they will not stick together and I can take out what I need. I will make jam from the blueberries.
While we were at the fish house, we got the news that has never happened before. The fish house owner has 3 fish houses, the one here, one at Cape Canaveral, and one in Salerno. The owner is closing all three places down until Monday, they have gotten in so many fish that the workers can not get them all packed to be shipped. They need these days to catch up. This also means that fish prices are going to drop drastically. There will be too many of them going on the fresh market. This is so sad because the fishermen were so happy to finally be catching something and thought that they would have a good paycheck right before Christmas and now it will not happen.
We thought we had $912.00 in for this week but now we are hoping for $760.00 which is still a good week's pay, that is if they only drop a dollar, they could go to $3.50 which would be $532.00. Time will tell.
