Ingredients (Note they don't have to be exact :) )
1/2 cup peanut butter (or any nut butter like almond butter)
1/2 tsp. of softened butter (optional)
1 cup powdered sugar (added gradually, may need a little more or less)
1 cup milk chocolate
1 cup dark chocolate
***Note you can use any chocolate or chocolate candy melts for these. So cool!
Step 1: Mix the butter in with the peanut butter
Step 2: Add in powdered sugar until when combined it resembles play dough in consistency. If it is too sticky to shape in your hands, just add a little more powdered sugar.
Step 3: Melt chocolate or candy melts in microwave - bursts of 30 seconds, then stir, 30 seconds stir, etc. Or use the double boiler method on the stovetop. Then add chocolate to your paper cups.
Step 4: Add peanut butter mixture to the chocolate. You can add a big ball of peanut butter or a smaller one, totally up to you. :)
Step 5: Next cover the tops of the peanut butter with more chocolate. Want it to be half dark, half milk chocolate? Cool! Just add the other one at this point. Or maybe you want white chocolate? :) Once done, give your pan a few taps on the counter or table so the chocolate spreads out evenly. I also will use my spoon to spread it out. Now place them in the refrigerator for 20 to 30 minutes then they are ready to serve.
Step 6: Enjoy those peanut butter cups! Trust me your family and friends will thank you if you make these for them!! :)
