Hello, wonderful community of Hive Food! 👋🏻
Today I want to share something I've never cooked before. It's Peanut Butter Chicken Bites. 🥰 Honestly, I had zero idea how this would turn out. But because our pantry had everything needed for the ingredients, why not give it a try? 😅
Ingredients:
• 500 g chicken
• 1 tbsp peanut butter
• 1 egg
• 1 red onion
• 2 cloves garlic
• 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp brown sugar
• 3 tbsp soy sauce
• 1/4 cup water
• salt & pepper
• cooking oil
Let's cook!
First, I put the chicken pieces in a bowl. Seasoned them with pepper, soy sauce, and a little sugar, then mixed well. I let it marinate for 30 minutes.
Next, I beat the egg in a bowl, dipped each piece of chicken into it until fully coated, then rolled it in the flour. When all pieces were nicely covered, they were ready to fry. ✨
Then, I heated oil in a pan. Once hot, I placed the chicken in and fried it until golden brown. It lasted for about 4-5 minutes. I took them out and set them aside first in a bowl.
In the same pan, I sautéed the garlic and onion, then added the peanut butter. At this moment, I noticed that peanut butter cooks faster than I expected. It dried up quickly. So every time it dried out, I added a little water, stirring constantly until it became a smooth and creamy sauce. I also seasoned it with salt and a bit more sugar to balance the taste. After tasting... It's perfect! 👌🏻
Finally, I put all the fried chicken back and gently tossed everything until it was fully covered in that delicious peanut butter sauce.
And that's it!
Done and ready to serve. 🎉
At first, I was nervous because this was my first time making this. But it really tastes rich, creamy, and savory. You just need to balance it with salt and sugar to taste absolutely awesome. 🤤 Even our little one enjoyed it! 🥰
Until my next meal...
Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 💗🌸
