After a long time,
Not at midnight; it's early morning. I haven't woken up; it's just that I haven't gone to sleep yet, thanks/curse to all the caffeine I took at midnight.
Okay, won't be ranting about life this time; that's not better in any way, even worse than before. Let's keep those aside.
Today, I am gonna rant or talk about something else: my corporate burdens, easy peasy cheap games of people on top of me. Pillow passing on the fuc**d-up tasks. I don't argue, nor do I show disturbances; I just know I must give my best and see how far things go.
So, recently I saw a guy living in fantasy. I know AI agents can do impressive stuff; still, we gotta be in reality, not fly so high that we end up falling suddenly back to reality.
You know what, it's really easy nowadays to start working on an idea and create a skeleton. It's easy because you can pick any route that is suitable for you, as per your knowledge base and skills. But when you hand over that stuff to someone else to continue from there, that's where the real dilemma comes in if that isn't a finished project. Like, you are now confined to someone else's style, structure, ideas, and rules. You can't just break free of that easily and do as you want because the skeleton is set, no matter if that is good or trash.

So recently, I was handed over a project which was initially mine, structured and developed with lots of care and caution. Now, with the help of agents, someone made drastic changes. Agents are at fault, or so, and that's why that path. Didn't follow any structure or so, went in full YOLO mode with agents, and made drastic changes. And guess what, too many things are breaking, functionalities aren't stable, and it came back to me for testing and fixing.
It's not like I can't debug or fix; I just need time- a good amount of time. Because I must explore what things got changed, how they are placed, and then work on them; otherwise, I will be in deep shits which will break every other day, and I will be perplexed to fix them. Time that I'm not given. They think everything is working in the UI with some data, but it's not. They never deployed it to new, fresh instances without any manual changes. They never went through proper testing and retesting.
I did a testing cycle on that, and when asked for fixes, it was just like I handed it over to you, not my responsibility anymore. That's when the conflict arose with that senior of mine. Come on, that's not a handover; it's doing whatever I wanted and ditching. You must acknowledge the issues and say you are busy and can't fix, someone else will take over then. I had a serious level of conflict over this.
That's how things are going, things being dumped on me. Whatever, these will make me more skilled, I believe, and they will understand the value when I'm gone, maybe for something better if Allah wills. Till then, I must bear with it, thats how the corporate culture works, perhaps.
