Do you like giving exams?
Well, I had mixed feelings, I used to like giving exams as on those days regular classes were off and you can study the way you want. I have always preferred my free will in everything. Actually, it was about completing daily homework, submitting it on the next day, and getting punishments if something goes left and right. Things have changed now, I am talking about my childhood days. Even in my college life I was comfortable with exams and just hated the results. I wished there were no results publications, no such pressures or discrimination.
Even if we loved or hated there were some subjects that we always loved to go with, like a comfort zone to go with. I was too much interested in English, Math, and Ict. Trust me, I believe I was good enough in these subjects and never felt any adverse feelings to sit for the exams. They were the spots of my comfort, my interest.
Whether it's the exam halls or the hall of life that we are playing, there are always some sweet spots that we call comfort zones. And when something from our interest backfires on us, it hurts a lot. Trust me, a lot.
So it started a week ago, I was preparing for one of my tests that I am interested in. Well, out of my academic life, totally from my interest that led me to dive into it. Not everything attracts me but this was something of my interest that I really feel comfortable with. I had taken a good preparation, even wanted to top in the leaderboard for an appealing gift, hehe, this was my confidence level. And when the exam started I was doing good until the last task that got me stuck and after 30 minutes of trying that, I gave up and submitted my answers. Results aren't published yet but the answers are already out and after seeing them I am perplexed, all the questions were tricky and I fell into the trap. I answered 90% with full confidence and turned out to be 60% correct whereas below 50% is considered a fail, a tiny escape. A huge slap on my confidence, if that was something out of my interest it wouldn't have hurt much but this is something I prefer with my own will and stumbled in it.
After 3 days I have sat down to write on this, it took me freaking 3 days to get out of the mental mess I was having. What I had anticipated and what I have got, so much lacking within myself that I wasn't aware of. People around me did well, I saw many of them successfully cracking the task that I failed to catch. Actually, I didn't practice much, I was just, "Ah, that's easy, just a few steps, and boom, I completed homework and class test and that's enough." That was my thought and it wasn't enough, not even close to enough, people practiced on and on even after completing homework and daily tasks.
So this is it, I am fine now on this matter, gotta rewatch all the classes and practice them as needed, and that's the plan for now. Otherwise, in the next midterm, I am gonna have another slap that would hamper many more days of mine and I can't afford to deal with them over and over again. Self-blabbering? Yeah, that's what I often do to ease myself.
