During our childhood, when we used to play cricket on the grounds, there used to be some irritating guy who used to pass by our areas and demand to do batting a little bit. These kinds of interruptions from a stranger used to bug us a lot. Now spending a chunk of our lives, we came to understand why they used to go crazy on seeing us playing. I am not the guy who would do the dame, like batting or playing any sports as they didn’t fascinate me much since childhood, but I do have other desires to fulfill.
This is pretty normal in how we roll back to our childhood memories and want to live again, even for a short time. We can't be that child again, but I do really wish every one of them. To live at their fullest and slap those who want to grow up hurriedly just like we used to think, hehehe, just kidding.
Yesterday I was talking to a junior who was thinking of dropping out. Like seriously? Here, in my country, people after completing their graduation are struggling hard to get a job, okay, let's keep it aside. Even if you do freelance stuff, not everyone gets at the peak. Even if you are doing well, graduation is a must to survive in the long run. I have seen some doing extraordinary jobs even without graduation, earning more than the top graduates, so what? “Exceptions can't be an example.” That's what we should keep in mind.
He was trying to go abroad for higher studies which is very very time-consuming and troublesome so he got frustrated. Also, he is from a commerce background and is not finding any thrill there to continue, he is getting interested in IT fields but can't study here, he has to start over which is not possible. He is thinking of dropping out and focusing on something else, which I just forbade. If he is not planning to go abroad then it's no-brainer to quit because whatever he plans to do, he can maintain both of them.
Two years back, when I had zero expenses and some savings, I did some unnecessary spending. At the same time, I could have utilized that money for something productive that could have yielded more. Also, my risk-taking ability was at its peak during that time. But I made some silly mistakes. Surprisingly, that junior is at the same stage, with zero expenses, no responsibilities to fulfill, some savings, and planning to spend on something that is a complete no-brainer for him, just like I did. I didn’t forbid him, as it might hurt him, I just described my situation, what I did, and where I am. Now that my risk-taking ability is zero I got no backup that I had spent unwisely. Gave him some advice to consider,
This is how often we see ourselves in others, our reflections. We do wish to go back and do some things a little bit differently. Alas! We can't do that. All we can do is guide them a little from our experiences, the chances are very keen that they will listen as we didn’t either. Whatever they do, I do wish the best for them and hope they don't make the mistakes that will make them suffer in the long run.
Have a good day,
Take Care!!
