I was a bit apprehensive about getting up today. Yesterday I had done a serious hike in knee-deep snow. This involves muscles that just 4-5 years ago would become painfully stiff. Each mountain trip used to result in 2-3 days of pain when walking down stairs or stretching. But that had been before I started to hike every Saturday and walk seriously on work days. (My habits changed significantly in 2020).
So - right leg out of bed - nothing. The other - nothing. Some steps around my apartment- nothing aches. Great! I went for a fast paced morning walk. My reward - excellent weather (-1°, sunny, no wind).
As @bucipuci puts it - trained muscles don’t forget. So be active and stay #AliveAndThriving! Stepping competitions such as
@poliac,
@poprzeczka or
@macfit are great motivators.
