Un paseo entre montañas, cascadas pequeñas y vegetación virgen, así es el Geoparque Guamuhaya.

Está en el macizo montañoso de la región central de Cuba, abarcando Sancti Spíritus, Villa Clara y Cienfuegos. Limita al norte con las Alturas de Santa Clara; al este y al oeste, con los valles de los ríos Zaza y Arimao; y al sur, con el mar Caribe.

Presenta rocas metamórficas y una rica red cársica con depresiones, cavernas y geositios patrimoniales. Alberga sistemas como Guajimico, Codina y Martín Infierno, este último con una de las estalagmitas más grandes del mundo, esculpida gota a gota durante milenios.

Ríos que forman saltos como El Caburní y Vegas Grandes.

Su flora es variada,mientras que la fauna acoge un gran número de especies endémicas.

Atesora sitios arqueológicos y paisajes culturales, junto con una profunda tradición montañesa.

El Geoparque Guamuhaya integra la protección del patrimonio geológico, la educación ambiental y el turismo de naturaleza sostenible.

A walk through mountains, small waterfalls, and pristine vegetation: Guamuhaya Geopark.

It is located in the mountain range of central Cuba, encompassing the provinces of Sancti Spíritus, Villa Clara, and Cienfuegos. It is bordered to the north by the Santa Clara Highlands; to the east and west by the valleys of the Zaza and Arimao rivers; and to the south by the Caribbean Sea.

It features metamorphic rocks and a rich karst network with depressions, caverns, and heritage geosites. It is home to geological systems such as Guajimico, Codina, and Martín Infierno, the latter boasting one of the world's largest stalagmites, sculpted drop by drop over millennia.

Rivers form waterfalls such as El Caburní and Vegas Grandes.
