I don't think there will ever be a time when this doesn't upset me. I know I should not be surprised, it's a widely known thing, there are people out there who in the name of love, say the most vile things and to them it makes perfect sense for reasons that are hard to comprehend.
A pastor named Greg Fritts who also happens to be a cop mind you, began to shout from his pulpit "the laws of the lord" and asked for more people of the law to uphold "the lord's will". Please note the air quotes here, since I think the premise itself is ridiculous, but I digress.

This is extremely worrying, because this wolf in sheep's clothing is supposed to be an agent of order in his day job and an agent of love and tolerance at night, yet, that's the opposite of what he seems to be.
I've done something futile, I will admit, and engaged plenty of times with bigots who truly believe homosexuals should die, or move to a deserted island. All I've achieved is getting myself angry at the impotence of being faced with monumental stupidity. Why is there so much hate in their hearts? Well, we don't know, but it doesn't seem normal in any way you slice it. Why would you hate someone who's never harmed you? People you don't know?
But, THE BOOK - they will yell, and yes I know the Bible too, I've read it front to back more than once. But it seems rather ridiculous that those who are literalists, love cherry picking the parts that resonate with them the most. We literally have people eating lobster, working on saturdays and wearing different linens, calling for the death of homosexuales, when leviticus calls for all those "crimes" to be punished by death equally.
But... the hate mongers will never truly go away, but hopefully they'll become so few, that nobody will even notice them.
