So I did a little something something.
Some of you might know, if you follow this little blog of mine, of course, that I've been daily driving Omarchy Linux for over a month now. I could not help myself and installed the darn thing. It's been interesting, to say the least, and it still feels like home when I have to grab my Linux Mint box, but the OS is, in my opinion, pretty freaking cool.
Which is why I did what I did.
I made a little app using Lovable with a simple prompt. To be honest, it's hard to say I made it when I didn't even look at the code, but let's say, for the sake of expediency, that my agency made it become a thing.
I shared a blog post about it, and I found myself not only surprised by what the little one-prompt app could do, but also using it quite often.
A quick way to track your Hive portfolio from a progressive web app is nothing revolutionary, but then again, not all good ideas have to be.
I kept on thinking about my little portfolio friend when I thought: It would be awesome as a plugin on Omarchy.
Why not?
I finally convinced myself.
Now, here is the super cool part of it all.
Since Omarchy is basically married to AI, and it ships with documentation on its integrations, I asked Claude to explain to me how to make my Portfolio Web App into an Omarchy plugin.
And boom.
Next thing you know, not only was it working, I also used the agent to guide me through submitting my plugin to the Omarchy Marketplace.
After submitting it, I thought to myself: I bet there will be some back and forth here, because of course there will be.
It's a read-only app, but crypto is still, and rightfully so, associated with scams and whatnot, so I fully expected to have to defend the idea.
In less than thirty minutes, my submission was reviewed and then accepted into the Marketplace.
To say I was happy is an understatement.
What does this mean for Hive, for me, for the country, and more broadly for the conflict in the Middle East?
Not much, I'm sure.
But a man can smile about little victories, right?
To be honest, I hope this little venture of mine at the very least brings more eyes into the Hive ecosystem. In theory, it should.
But even if it doesn't: it was fun, it's useful, and why da hell not?
