
This egg sandwich I will share with you is one of those meals that is perfect not only for breakfast but also for an afternoon merienda.
One afternoon, out of curiosity, I decided to finally try this recipe that I always see popping up on TikTok.
It looked easy enough, and I love that it didn't require any special ingredients.
I just used what we already had at home.
Ingredients


• 2 slices of bread
• 1 egg
• Cheese slices
• A pinch of salt
• Cooking oil or butter (for frying)
• Ketchup
Procedure

• After cracking the egg into a bowl, and adding a pinch of salt, beat it lightly until well combined. Then in a pan, add a small amount of oil or butter and pour the beaten egg. Spread it slightly to form a thin layer.

• Then dip both pieces of bread lightly into the egg, and then place them on top of the cooking egg mixture.

• Let the bottom cook until set and lightly golden, then flip everything carefully.

• Add cheese and a little ketchup on one slice of bread.
Cooking tip: For a more gooey and satisfying sandwich, try using quickmelt or melting cheese like mozzarella. I used regular cheese this time, which didn't melt much. It still added flavor but that stretchy, creamy texture works best!


• Close the sandwich by placing the other slice on top, and gently pressing it together. Make sure to toast both sides until golden, and fully cooked.



• After that, remove it from the pan, slice it into halves or triangles, and enjoy it while it's still warm. ☺️💖
You can pair it with coffee, milk, or a simple cup of tea...
Honestly, after all the flipping, layering, and closing like I saw on TikTok, I realized something funny.
It doesn't really taste different. 😆
If you want it a little complicated, you can definitely do this method, as it looks fancy.
But if you're in a hurry, cooking the egg and bread separately still gives almost the same comforting taste.
