Hi everybody!

Today I want to tell you about a walk I took at the end of May. At the initiative of my daughter, we went to Sergiev Posad. This city is located in the Moscow region and is included in the Golden Ring of Russia tourist route.

Our walk began from the Yaroslavsky railway station in Moscow. From this station you can get to Sergiev Posad by train.

We arrived at the station early and managed to buy food.

Every time I am going to Sergiev Posad, I make a promise to myself that I will definitely see the city, but I have never fulfilled this promise, because when I arrive in Sergiev Posad, the first thing I go to is the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, I spend several hours there, after who no longer want to go! This time I promised again and again I did not keep my promise!

Arriving in Sergiev Posad, I began to photograph everything interesting that came across our way. Today I want to show you some photos taken that day.

Sergiev Posad met us with balloons in the sky:

On our way there was a small square. On the stands - the history of Sergiev Posad and the Trinity-Sergius Lavra:

Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra:

We passed by a restaurant and hotel complex. My attention was drawn to a very beautiful wood carving, which was used to decorate the buildings of the complex:

Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra is a very large and beautiful monastery. You can dedicate a separate post to it:

We walked around the territory of the temple, took pictures, went into the church. My daughter opened the unknown corners of the monastery to me. It seemed to me that I knew all its nooks and crannies, but I did not even suspect that lay people were allowed into the territory of the Moscow Theological Academy. It turns out they are allowed. Moreover, there is a wonderful dining room and a beautiful Church of the Intercession.

At the academy, the first thing we did was to have lunch. Our lunch was lenten (the only way in the monastery) and extremely simple, but very tasty! We bought ourselves a portion of hot Russian cabbage soup, pies with potatoes and mushrooms and a glass of hot warming sbiten:

After lunch we toured the Church of the Intercession, photographed the monastery's flowers and looked into the souvenir shop. I liked the tea pairs there, but since I broke three beautiful cups in a year, I just regretted the money for these:

On this we decided to end our walk and went to the station. On the way, we met a matryoshka:

On the way back, my daughter was dozing, and I tried to photograph what I saw outside the window. Here, I took a picture of the Sofrino station. There is a very nice old train station.

Arriving at the Yaroslavsky railway station, my daughter and I said goodbye and went back to our homes:

It was such an emotional day. I could not even fit in one post everything that we saw during the trip and I think that I will return to this topic.

Thank you for your attention and support!
