My people, am back again. For days now, I've been
battling with health related issues. As a result, you guys have missed some laugh while myself have also missed your laughter. Not only that, there are compilations of stress and anxiety in my mind now because, I haven't gone through your comedies for over a week ago. Please am saying a big and giant sorry both to myself and to you all.

My happiness is that I stopped for a while in other to save a life. Happily, it happened as expected. Therefore, am bouncing back to my position. In today's package, there is this thing that have eaten me up for months now. I think, its a mentality we all should kick against. Hahaha, but, it's like some English words are contradicting oo. Imagine asking you to kick against something you can't touch. Let's reason it, can you see and touch someone's character?

How on this earth can you kick away the air? I believe that you can kick off the bucket. But, if you should kick, please kick only your own bucket ooo. Because If you should kick my own, trust me, you must collect from me I swear. And please, while kicking your own personal bucket, let it be the literal bucket and not your symbolic bucket which is your life ooo. Hahaha.

Alright, alright, that mentality is the everyday answer to some questions which is Am fine.

See, guys, if you're living in Nigeria, mind how you answer some questions or will I even say the world at large. You may be wondering why am too nervous over that answer, well, my different conversations with people will vividly address the issue. let's move.

The conversation you're about to read is the one I had with someone suffering from fracture in an orthopedic hospital.

First person conversation

Me: Good morning sir
Him: Morning, how are you?
Me: Sir, am beautiful. What of you?
Him: Fine.
Me: Sir, are you really fine?
Him: Hmmm, what else will I answer naa? it's our normal response naa. But, honestly, my dear, am not fine. I have spent more than 6 months in this hospital and the worst part is that my apprentice ran away with my 4 million naira.

My people, why on earth should someone facing this kind of condition tell me that he or she is fine? hehehe. I think below should be his answer:

Me: Sir, how are you?
Him: Am sick and poor
Am just saying my mind oo.

Now, as I left the hospital, just few poles away from the hospital, I met one of my classmate who happened to be my friend then, by the name Ngozi. I saw her with red eyes and excessive lips. hahaha. You don't know what it means to have excess lips abi? Alright let me explain.

When something hits your small lips causing it to rise abnormally, that's excessive lips. Big lips. Lolz.

As I saw her in that condition, I didn't care to dig out the cause, rather, we exchanged pleasantries. Then, below was our conversation.

Me: Babe how naa
She: Am fine oo
Me: Babe, why is your eyes red?
She: My dear, is it not that thing I got married to that called himself my husband. Last night, he punched me as if am sand bag. Marajah, you're my friend, I will tell you. Just look at my teeth. One is missing right? it's also my husband that caused me to lose that teeth. (At that point, she started crying profusely).
Me: Ngo, But you told me you're fine earlier. Hia, how could someone in this kind of situation be fine?
She: My dear, you should know that it's just a normal answer. But deep down inside me, am not fine and it's written all over my face and body.

Heeeyyy, see this case my people. a woman who have lost one of her tooth in the hand of her husband is telling me that she's fine. is it true? What do you think, should that be her response? What do you think should be the suiting word? From my end, I think she should say: My heart is filled with tears instead of Am fine. Anyway, your opinion matters too. So feel free to tell me your mind.

Hmmm, that same day, while thinking about the reason why our people should adopt Am fine as the only answer to How are you?, While at home thinking about it, around 11:30 pm, my neighbor came knocking or will I say pounding at our gate, initially, I was afraid. But as a strong babe I am, I asked who it is that's knocking. She mentioned her name. Next I asked,

Me: Neighbor hafa?
Neighbour: Fine

Since everything is fine according to her, I opened my door. As I walked down the gate, surprisingly, I demanded to know why she's knocking, that was when she said;

Neighbour: Marajah, please help me reach my husband ooo. My husband that can't and haven't stay outdoor till 7:30 pm ever since we got married is the one that haven't come back till now. Am finished. Who knows if he's still alive. Or, have they kill my husband. (She said it all with heavy tears rolling down her cheeks).

This her response added fuel to the already existing burning fire inside me. That's why I have decided to share it here with you all my friends.

My little advice

Please, let's think about this already tagged answer to HOW ARE YOU?. Who really is fine? let me tell you, if hunger is not affecting you, tell me you're not buying anything from market or, you're not buying fuel. Hahaha, please my people, let's tell ourselves the truth, how can you be fine when you're hungry? Let me give you tips on how to answer whenever someone asks you How are you? or Hafa?.

If you're a woman, say:

Am beautiful but, if you're not, you better say, Am ugly. Lolz
Am glittering
Managing
Better
Wonderfully made
Tired
And so on.

If you're a man, say:

Handsome But, mind you, if you're not, just answer according to your skin color Am black or white hahaha
Wonderfully made
Managing
Filled with anxiety
Stressed
Poor
And so forth

Please, don't forget to answer according to your present condition at that point. Don't say am fine when you're not fine.

Good night friends. Till tomorrow. Byee.
