I just finished a 9.629km running that lasted about 0hh:44mm:48ss !
After almost 2 full recovery days (the short 1mile run on Monday doesn't really count), I was hoping to go for at least 10k today, at a good pace around 7min/mile. But while having my late afternoon coffee, I knew that wasn't going to happen. I almost decided not to run at all, because I just felt exhausted, with no energy. The fact I forgot my usual running shoes in the rain last night was not helping. But I finally gathered enough motivation to get started, with my old shoes. First part was tough, I still had no energy, had difficulty breathing and felt as if I was wearing ankle weights (even though my old shoes are a bit heavier, I don't think it was the reason). And my time shows the struggle, as it is quite slower than my last runs. Eventually, about 6 miles in just under 45 minutes, it could have been much worse. Two good points: my pace was fairly consistent all the way, and in the end I felt as if I could have kept that pace for much longer (already 20+ minutes in complete darkness, I found it wise to stop for the day).
I could make a small detour in the woods, as the leaves were cleaned away from the trails. After that, I stayed on one of my usual routes again.
The reported stride length was quite lower than usual, I am wondering if the shoe sensors calibration is different in both pair of shoes. In any case, the cadence at 170spm was way too low again.
Keep Exhausting!
