Who would have thought that in Indonesia, there is a venezuelan food. Apparently, in Bali almost everything is available including venezuelan cuisine. What’s more interesting is that the chef is often from the country of origin that they are serving. So, the authenticity sometimes can’t be questioned. I have been seeing tequenos on hive and its recipe but was also wondering how to actually make them. It all looks complicated so when I got the chance to actually try it, why not?
For my first impression, tequenos looks like one of Indonesian pastries made from bananas. But after taking my first bite, inside of it was a melted cheese and the whole bite was yummy. Inside the box there were 5 tequenos with 2 sauces. The green one is called guasacaca and the red one is called “salsa rosada” thanks to @perceval who told me about the sauce name. When I dipped into the sauce, it became 10x tastier. There are many more venezuelan that I still have to try before I am flying back. I still need to try cachapas and also pabellon criollo which seemed really tasty and filling. I also have to try the arepas which are made from cornmeal and different from what I made before. So, there are many on my list that I still have to try. But thus far, I really love what I ate.
