This is a cucumber that is quite different in shape and size compared with the regular cucumber that we see in the shops.
I thought that I would try and grow it - it is called "Crystal Apple" - the shape is round and the skin is a pale creamy yellow when ripe.
The height is about 60cm which is great for my containers, - I do not have too much space in this area so am hoping it will work out well.
My seeds have popped up nicely and providing the beastly creepies stay away, they should do well.
I planted them with plenty of organic material and placed the container in full sun as cucumbers must have plenty of sunshine.
Watering is also important and so it is important to see that the soil is kept moist and not allowed to dry out completely.
As the plants develop, I shall provide support for them to grow up.
I am not sure how prolific this variety is, but am hoping to get a decent harvest if all goes well.
