We all work very hard to get paid. Each day we give part of ourselves to our employment -- our time, our energy, our talents and our time -- in the hopes that our efforts are validated, and that our contributions to the organization are appreciated. It's this kind of validation that a salary increase can offer an employee.
I am happy for being so satisfied and grateful today since that finally I have had my salary increased after such a long period. For some people it may be a seemingly trivial thing, but not for me. It is just to remind myself that can be benefited from working hard, enduring, and persisting.
There really was a time I chose to resign. I thought that it was probably time for me to find another better opportunity to work. And they refused my resignation and gave me another reason to stay. But now looking back, I see that there are instances where the things that we consider as ends can turn out to be something that we have until then.
We are living in a world that is full of uncertainties, problems and changes. Some are having difficulty keeping a job, while others are having trouble making ends meet and are unsure of what the future holds. Through it all, I have learned to be grateful for having a good job, a steady income, and an organization that still offers to give me a job.
So, just because you are employed does not mean that life will be smooth sailing all the time. There will be occasions of stress, hard work, conflicts, and doubts. Even so, let us remember to be grateful for everything we have.
For now, I will be grateful for this blessing, continue to do my best, and be thankful for the people and things that have helped me to grow. Sometimes we just need to stop, look around, and realize that what we have today is what we asked for yesterday.
Thankful for the boost. Thankful for the chance. More than anything thankful to have a job that doesn't include stability.
