One of the true friendships I have is with a woman I met at work. We started as colleagues, but with time, our relationship became much more than just working together. She became someone I could talk to, trust, and depend on.
When I met her, I did not know that she would become such an important person in my life. We worked together and slowly got to know each other. At some point, I was going through a difficult time in my life. I had so many things on my mind, and I needed someone I could talk to without being judged. I needed someone who would listen to me and allow me to express how I truly felt.
She was there for me. She did not try to make me feel like my problems were not important. She listened to me, encouraged me, and gave me the support I needed during that difficult period. Sometimes, all I needed was someone to talk to, and she was always willing to listen. Her presence gave me comfort when I felt overwhelmed.
What touched me the most was that she did not leave after the difficult time was over. Some people are only around when everything is going well, but a true friend stays when life becomes difficult. She saw me through that period and continued to be there for me even after things became better.
Her friendship has affected my life in many ways. She taught me that friendship is not only about laughing together, going out, or having fun. Sometimes, friendship means sitting with someone when they are sad, listening when they need to talk, and giving them hope when they feel like giving up.
Because of her, I have also learned to appreciate the people who genuinely care about me. I have learned that I should not take a good friend for granted. Having someone who believes in you and stays beside you during difficult moments is something money cannot buy.
I am grateful that what started as a simple relationship between two colleagues became a true friendship. She came into my life at a time when I needed someone, and she was there for me. Even today, I know that I can count on her.
For me, that is what true friendship means. It is being there, not only when things are good, but especially when life becomes hard. I will always be grateful that I met her, and I hope our friendship continues for many more years.
