Greetings, dear community. Today's activity is a little different from what I usually do, I present to you. This time I wanted to renovate and for that I needed new material, mostly; however, I used some fabric to recycle. Many years ago this furniture has had some cushions that over time were deteriorating, and hoping that, at home, someone had the idea to replace them new, it did not happen. Since then I decided in December to make some investment and little by little I bought some materials.

Un saludo, querida comunidad. La actividad de hoy es un poco distinta a lo que hago habitualmente, les presento. En esta oportunidad he querido renovar y para ello he necesitado de material nuevo, en su mayor铆a; sin embargo, utilic茅 alguna tela para reciclar. Hace muchos a帽os estos muebles han tenido unos cojines que con el tiempo fueron deterior谩ndose, y esperando que, en casa, alguien tuviera la idea de reponerlos nuevos, no pas贸 as铆. Desde entonces decid铆 en diciembre hacer alguna inversi贸n y poco a poco fui comprando algunos materiales.
Since the foam rubber expires and can not be used, and the fabric, I did not have enough to recycle, what I could use were the strips or cords to make the vivid that is put in the finish of the cushion. Buying it was more money. So I decided to take advantage of many strips and shoelaces that are no longer used, I also recycled some zippers.
Ya que la goma espuma se vence y no se puede aprovechar, y la tela, no ten铆a lo suficiente como para reciclar, lo que pude aprovechar fueron las tiras o cordones para elaborar el vivo que se le pone en el acabado del coj铆n. Comprarlo era m谩s dinero. Entonces decid铆 aprovechar muchas tiras y cordones de zapato que ya no se utilizan, tambi茅n recicl茅 algunos cierres.
And this is how I renovated my furniture; now I present my step by step, in a very simple and easy to make way. The materials to make these cushions were:
Y fue de esta forma como renov茅 mis muebles; ahora les presento mi paso a paso, de una manera muy sencilla y f谩cil de realizar. Los materiales para realizar estos cojines fueron:
- Tela para tapizar, siete metros
- 10 cierres (las medidas dependen del tama帽o del coj铆n)
- Hilo, tijeras, l谩piz, cent铆metro
- Goma espuma medida de 50 x 50 (para cinco asientos)
- Goma espuma de 25 x 50 (para el espaldar).
- Tiras de tela, para realizar el vivo
We start by cutting the foam rubber to the desired size, then we measure the size of the cushion, and cut the fabric to the desired size, leaving extra centimeters for sewing.
Iniciamos cortando la goma espuma del tama帽o deseado, luego medimos el tama帽o del coj铆n, y cortamos la tela, del tama帽o deseado, dejando cent铆metros de m谩s para la costura.
We measure the contour of the cushion, to cut the strips that go around it. We also cut narrower strips, these we turn them inside out, they will be used to make the piping. Then we sew them around one of the sides of the fabric that are part of the cushion.
Medimos el contorno del coj铆n, para cortar las tiras que van alrededor. Tambi茅n cortamos tiras m谩s angostas, estas las volteamos por el rev茅s, se utilizar谩n para hacer el vivo. Seguidamente las cosemos alrededor en una de las caras de la tela que forman parte del coj铆n.
