A Rich and Tasty Coffee
Today was one of those days when I had to leave home very early; when that happens, I'm always in a rush and don't have time to make my coffee; it's traumatic for me. Since my morning commute takes me to several parts of the city, this time I was going to a lab for a routine checkup, which was quite far from the city center. I took the Caracas Metro, and the trip was 22 stations; I got off at the second-to-last station, since I boarded at the fifth station near my house. Fortunately, it was fast and the trip was pleasant because the train wasn't delayed at all; what bothered me was that I was traveling on an empty stomach, and that's why I didn't have my morning coffee.
Once I arrived at the clinic and they drained me dry like Dracula, ha, ha, ha, ha, I didn't hesitate to look for a coffee shop. I felt weak; I don't know if it was from the blood or because I needed my coffee boost to give me energy. Well, I was rewarded. I found this shopping center called "El Sambilito." It's quite small but very cozy. After wandering around, we found this coffee shop, which the owner was just opening to start the morning. Once she welcomed us, we chatted for a while about the place and other things.
While I was emptying the coffee beans into the espresso machine and placing the portafilter with the ground coffee in it, she asked me what kind of coffee I wanted. At that moment, I wanted a mocha, something energizing, while she explained the preparation process. I asked if I could take step-by-step photos for the website, and she very kindly agreed. She let me go to the bar. And she began her preparation, starting by adding a teaspoon of sweet cream to the container. Next, she added the milk and cocoa to the pitcher, then placed it under the steam wand to froth it.
Finally, they pour it into the frothy cocoa and then add the coffee; well, what did I say? My great coffee was delicious and comforting, well-balanced and frothy, accompanied by these little bread rolls that come with the coffee. The place is a very pleasant little corner, and they also offer breakfast and lunch. It's a space with tables and a TV to relax in, designed for those who work there, and the service is good.
