QC Community Contest question for the week is...

"Let's talk about Hive - What do you love about Hive? What do you like about Hive? What would you like to change about Hive?"

What do you love about Hive? What do you like about Hive?

I think almost all of us are here for the obvious and why we chose to post on Hive instead of reddit or other social medias like Twitter. That's because it feels good when you're stating your opinion while getting credit for it in form of a reward (upvotes, which can be changed into cash.)

I love how I can say and share almost anything here with a few exceptions. My golden rule is, if I can't say things to you in person, I will never say it in the internet. Hive is no exception. My posts and my opinions are what I think of outside of Hive. I like and love how I can express myself freely as long as it's the truth and I won't do harm to another.

What would you like to change about Hive?

Tutorials for New Users. I first learned about Hive and Ecency through some youtube videos, I got interested and sign up to Ecency. However, there was no like onboarding session or anything. It kind of felt like after graduating in high school and everyone be like,

"Congratulations on graduating on high school. You're an adult now. You're on your own. Explore the world. Good luck."

"P.S. There are rules in the world. We will never say it. Find it out on your own. Good luck!"

In other words, I cannot and probably will not recommend Hive to someone entirely new to blogging. It's not very friendly to beginners. I had to do a ton of research, check a lot of guides in youtube about blogging and read a lot of articles in Hive to see what they do. Everything is a trial and error and if you received that error, you might get your account banned.

I am fine now but initially. I'm scared of posting. I'm like, "Would this be okay? Is this too short? What is plagiarism? Did I do that plagi-something?" and no one will tell you if it's right or wrong. So, yeah, that's what I want to change about Hive. More beginner tutorials and probably a place where you can ask questions as a beginner.

More specific rules like what is considered a bad blog or what you can and can't say or do in Hive.

This is in correlation to above. I really know what Plagiarism is and even now, I really don't. I know you need to add disclaimer so I do on my works but I don't know if what I added is enough or is there something missing. That's why I have this statement at all times:

"If I seem to forget to cite other sources, this would be unintentional. Please leave it on the comments below to be added in the post. Thanks."

That's because, again, I don't know. I don't think I should use or do how the books do their sources because it doesn't look friendly and is actually more confusing. I'm not sure if I should do it like in the movies where on the credits at the end, everything is there.

I hope there was like a guide or something on how to write the blogs properly. I hope for guides and not as tips, but more like a format like,

"At the first paragraph, you usually do this. At the end, you usually add this."

I know I sound like ranting but this is my personal opinion and difficulties I had to face. It also fits in the theme so I might as well add it.
