A stream of colourful flowers spread out across the field before my eyes. Was I dreaming? This scene is exactly as I'd always imagined, a secret fantasy, my place of solace in the midst of chaos.
A step forward into the field, then I stopped. I looked around. It seemed okay and the flowers were still there.
Another step forward, I ambled slowly amidst the flowers, touching each delicate petals. Drops of nectar coated my fingertips and I touched my nose. The floral scent wafted into my nostrils as I sniffed more in.
This was indeed my fantasy and I was surrounded by flower magic. My dream came true, my place of solace became my haven. I laid down gently amidst the flowers, the sunflowers bent gently to pat my head and I closed my eyes.
I knew this was not real but it felt so real to me. Nothing could break me away from my serene place. The magic of this flower field had insulated me from the chaos and suffering I was going through.
I curled my knees into my stomach, red rose petals showered down in slow motion around my back. I stared at the flowers, the cool breeze blowing gently to temper the harsh cracks and slaps of the whips around my back….
"Dude, she's not responding." The assistant said.
"What?!" The hefty, fat task manager in charge of disciplining the coal mine slaves growled and pulled her hair back forcefully to see her face. Truly, her eyes were closed like she was in a deep sleep, no flinches or facial response to the beatings she just received. Only the bleeding blisters on her back evidenced her suffering.
"Humph! Take her to the nurse!"
In her flower fantasy field, she smiled.
