Hello Errybunny!!!
So my dad had this little project where he made an old rusted geyser into a Weber. And I thought it was really cool an inspirational!
He’s on Steemit (hasn’t got to introducing himself yet) so give him a follow if you want! @shadowcts!
He will be active soon, and blogging what he does on a daily basis.
Basically it would be me blogging, him taking the photos.
Just to start him off, until he gets the gist. I’ll be introducing him tonight, if all goes well. So be on the lookout for me resteeming his introduction! 😊.
So anyway, to get you all hyped up on whatever he’s going to be posting, here’s some of his work!
So basically what he did, is he took a geyser, right? And he put some legs on it, a mesh into the geyser to keep the wood from burning through the bottom of the geyser like so;
So, rewinding a bit! For those of you who don’t know what BRAAI means, it’s like barbecuing on a fire. But South Africans are very homocidal when it comes to you telling them it’s barbecuing!
It’s a very cultural thing that they will do on a daily basis if they could lol.
But anyway, the idea of this geyser Weber came from seeing this;
A photo from google I screen grabbed quickly that shows you exactly kinda how it works. 😊
So my dad got some heat resistant exhaust paint in an aerosol can from the nearest place for cars.
Basically just to patch up the ugly rust showing places. It’s something he’s going to use on a weekly basis to make fire in. And it’s a very DIY kind of rustic artistic deal thing lol.
But if you’re into repainting it yearly, and sanding down the whole saga, and repainting the whole thing then go for it. What is there to lose when you make something pretty for reselling or redistribution?
I think someone could make a living by selling such things, especially in South Africa.
My dad was super impressed with the heat this generated from the fire. He got all excited! I love seeing my dad doing his thing all around his work place, because he’s so creative.
He took photos and sent to his friends and everything.
I sat this one out because I’m vegan. No chicken isn’t a vegetable ok.
Then you just pop the lid on and check on it a few times. The heat stays in and you basically smoke ‘braai’ the chicken.
Super awesome!!
Love
