I like to think that when doing stuff in and around the house that everything is possible for me. Sure I won't be putting tiles on the wall in the bathroom because that can result in a lot of damage. For for most crafts that have existed from the past, somehow I believe that everything can be learned nowadays, especially with a thousand tutorials and Youtube.
Back in the days one grandma was there to learn you these kinds of things like crochetting and knitting, but now it is more a matter of patience and leaving out all external factors and putting your mind to these kinds of projects.
About two years ago I decided that the art of crochetting should be something that I should also be able to learn so I decided to go for it.
As one of my first projects, this results in a beanie as you can see in this post and I was very happy with that coming out of my hands.
I had a lot of fun working this beanie as one of my first starter projects!
It was time for a bigger project and making a sweater myself was surely on the hotlist. Making something just out of a lot of different parts and putting them together should be doable right?
Right?
I went on the big world wide web looking for pattern that were not that difficult to start with since I have to look up every type of stitch there is to understand what we are about to do.
Meaning that when I found this pattern from Een mooi gebaar which is a Dutch translated pattern coming from the very awesome Meg made with love site which is actually a girl making stuff that I would want to wear (which isn't always the case honestly). So I went for it!
This sweater is actually made of 4 different parts. A front piece, a back piece which is totally identical to the front piece, and two arm sleeves. Put it all together and voila, there you have your sweater.
Now starting off..I started this project not last winter but the winter before that. The cool thing with these kinds of things is that you can just leave them forever and start again when you feel like it, which to me is most often when the evenings are dark and there is no option for outdoors.

Earlier in the week it was raining and I didn't want to head out, so I pulled out my crochet project again and continued with the arm sleeves deciding on how long I would want them to be since this is a baggy sweater.
I finished the last ball of my yarn and was back to the store again to get the yarn...and it wasn't there anymore.
Also in the same shop different town, there was nothing more to see anymore. Crap. Webshop then... out of stock, not coming back anymore. Argh!
So now I have half of a sweater which is half finished, not possible to wear and no way anymore to get this yarn anywhere anymore. Boohhh.

Time won in this case, or better said: I lost because of missing the deadline of the yarn being made and sold. I guess the only option now here is to frog the sweater entirely and use the yarn for something else in a new project to make the most out of it.
Ow well, it is about the journey and not about the goal, right?
