Here’s how I made my summer baby cardigan
Materials Needed:
4 balls of Yeye Regular Yarn
3.5mm crochet hook
Scissors
Yarn needle
Back Panel
I started by chaining 40 to make the back panel of the cardigan.
For the first row, I skipped the first chain and inserted my hook into the second chain from the hook. I made 1 single crochet (SC) and 1 half double crochet (HDC) in the same space.
I continued this pattern until the end of the row.
For the second row, I chained 1, turned my work, and repeated the same pattern. I continued this until I completed 26 rows.
Front Panels
For each front panel, I chained 20 and followed the same pattern I used for the back panel.
I made two front panels.
Sleeves
For the sleeves, I chained 26 and worked 1 SC and 1 HDC in each space, following the same pattern.
I continued for 15 rows and made two sleeves.
Joining Everything Together
To assemble the cardigan, I placed the middle of each sleeve at the shoulder area, matching it with the front and back panels.
I sewed the sleeve to the body and continued sewing from the sleeve down the side of the cardigan.
I also joined the shoulders together, leaving enough space in the middle for the neck opening. Then I sewed around the neckline to give it a neat finish.
Finishing
Finally, I worked single crochet (SC) stitches around the entire cardigan to smoothen and neaten the edges.
And that's how I made my summer baby cardigan!
