Sometimes, you don't need a gym to get your daily exercise. Just go to the farm! 😂
I recently went to the farm to plant uboñ, a vegetable seed we call by that name in Ibibio with my sister.
My father had already cleared the bush and prepared the land, including making the ridges. My own job was to come with my hoe and seeds and get to work.
I used my hoe to dig small holes along the ridges. I carefully dropped the seeds into the holes and covered them with soil.
It was a simple task, but it made me appreciate how much work goes into growing the food we eat.
The farm was surrounded by beautiful greenery
and palm trees, and the fresh air made the whole experience enjoyable.
Before leaving, I also carried some bamboo
sticks home because I have plans to use them for something later. 😂
It was a tiring but fulfilling day. There is something special about putting your hands in the soil and knowing that you are planting something that will eventually grow.
Every harvest begins with a seed. 🌱❤️
Have you ever planted something yourself?
