A scream rose up above the traffic.
"What the fu-" Jenny spun on her heel and stared as a frantic woman appeared over the hill and raced towards them, her legs buckling with every step. "What's wrong?"
The woman gasped for breath then let out an ear-piercing shriek.
"FLOOD!"
Jenny tilted her head to the side and looked past the woman. There was no water in sight. The nearest dam was a fair distance away and it hadn't rained for several months. Not to mention, the last time it had 'rained' it wasn't really a rain so much as a light sprinkle. This town had never been so dry.
"FLOOOOOOOOD!"
The woman's feet pounded on the pavement as she sped towards them, as her hefty frame barged into Joey and sent him flying, and she didn't even give a backward glance as she raced past them faster than the fastest olympic sprinter. It was quite impressive, really. Someone that large should not be moving that fast.
"Ow." Joey rubbed at his elbow and climbed back to his feet. "I had just perfected my tree pose, too. What the heck was that all about?"
"No idea." Jenny shrugged. "Something about a flood."
"Wait. A flood!?" Joey's eyes widened and he whipped his head back and forth, up and down, looking about wildly. "Which direction did she come from?"
"I don't know. Over there?" Jenny gestured vaguely behind them. "Over the hill?"
"Oh, shit! I left the hose on."
"Joey, a running hose wouldn't cause a flood..."
Water started to trickle down the hill.
