Clara had an ugly incident while going to bank on a busy Monday morning. While she was at the bus stop she flagged down a csb and wanted to board it only for one man to appear from nowhere and took her place. She was rushing to cash a cheque at the bank and return to the office.
But the man had to thwart that plan by elongating her stay at the bus stop. When she finally got another cab after over forty-five minutes, she prayed for a decongested road leading to the bank. That too turned out to be the opposite. She was held up in the traffic for close to an hour. Her time was being spent the way she never planned.
When she finally got to thr bank she went straight to the cashier and placed her cheque for clearance. The cashier gracefully took it and ran a quick check on it.
"Madam, please sign twice across the figures and at the back of the cheque and then put today's date on it too, thanks".
Clara was surprised that she didn't remember to date the cheque. She searched endlessly for a pen on her handbag but could not find any. When she turned round in the banking hall to see if she'll use another person's pen to sign. She saw the man who had bypassed her to the cab at the bus stop. The man was also looking at her and realized that Clara was looking for a pen.
"You can use my pen"", he said.
Clara hesitated initially but the way and manner the man said it disarmed her. It was such a soft and lovely voice.
Clara smiled back and him and took the pen from him. Maybe that was his own way of saying sorry for his 'rude behaviour' towards her earlier that day.
This is my entry for today's @daily.prompt: Use My Pen
