Use my pen
Hello #freewriters family. I trust your weekend is going well. Welcome to my blog.
It is Sandra's birthday; however, she is not in a celebratory mood; rather, she is busy looking for something. Her father's old pen. After a few moments, she hissed, " Oh, I've found the pen. Though it looked very old and rickety, she seemed happy to have found it.
Her father quipped in from the couch,
Happy birthday, Sandra. You found my pen,
Use my pen, Sandra, to tell stories; use it to change narratives. Go ahead and do it, Sandra; the world is waiting for people who can change stories using their pen, not as a weapon but as a source of comfort to encourage the weak and change destinies.
That week, while Sandra was going to work, she found Obinna with a torn school uniform lying at the door to their staircase. Sandra asked him, Obinna, why are you not going to school, he answered, "I was asked to go because I had not yet paid my school fees.
Sandra was pained. When she came back from work that day, Sandra could not concentrate; she kept hearing her father's words, "Use my pen."
Sandra sprang into action, made up a story about Obinna, and posted it on social media. Boom, the story went viral. Before the end of that day, somebody called in and offered to pay Obinna's school fees; another offered to sponsor his education; another offered to sew a pair of uniforms for Obinna.
That same week, Obinna returned to school but never remained the same. His story changed forever. Sandra went back and shared the story with her father, and he smiled, patted her on the back, and said, You have gotten yourself the biggest birthday life can offer".
You used my pen and created not only a story but a new path for Obinna and changed his life forever.
Happy birthday once again, Sandra.
