Round Or Flat Characters In Life; Why Does Change Arouse Stigma?

Change is hardly easy, the past continues to hunt the present and even when people think change is inevitable, they hardly belief that another person seeking redemption should be appreciated by their attempts to actually change.
In other words, the present will always be judged by the past because no one's slate is completely wiped clean amongst others. And in one's quest to seek change and redemption the past will always be the reason why people won't trust you enough.
