Sometimes we are of this opinion that money is the root of all evil; if it’s why, then do we go out every day hustling for the money? People also believe that money changes people. We have seen many people who became successful and forgot their old-time friends and stopped hanging out with them and became so arrogant to them. This is why #indiaunited wants us to look into this topic: does money really change people, or does wealth simply reveal who they were all along?
I have some of my friends who became successful, and they forget everything about me for them. I am no longer in their class. The honest truth is money can change someone's behavior, either in a positive way or a negative way. When someone has a little money, they will be so humble, respectful, and obedient. They are behaving this way because they have no choice but to be in their best behavior, but once there is a little change in their finances, you will see them changing. Someone who was once humble will be arrogant.

For instance, someone who becomes rich after many years of financial hardship. Before becoming rich, they will be very careful of how they spend their money because they fully understand how hard it was for them to be where they are. Most people, the moment they become wealthy, will start spending freely. That is why we mostly say money changes people, but the honest truth is they were suppressing their behavior.
Wealth is also capable of influencing someone's behavior. Money can change someone within some seconds. Before you know it, many people will want to be your friend. We will become an important figure. You will be respected by people because of financial status. Many times we allow money to influence us, and it affects the way we see ourselves and treat others.
It must be a time when people have money and become so proud their character will change instantly; they will be influenced by the money, and they will start feeling more important. And they forget that there were people who were there to support and encourage them when things were hard for them. This is very common among the rich; they stop appreciating little things. Money can’t make someone arrogant, selfish, and unkind. There are thousands of people who are wealthy, but they still remain humble and generous. They fully understand that being wealthy doesn’t mean you are better than anyone else. There are people who become more compassionate when they are wealthy because they remember the days of little beginning.
There are some people who have little money; they are not humble, they are selfish, and they are dishonest. I don’t believe that poverty makes anyone good. There is this saying that we can never trust the loyalty of a poor man. Money gives people the opportunity to crawl out from their shell and tell us who they are. Someone who is responsible for will use their wealth to build and support people around them. The main thing is not to allow the wealth to control you.
In a way what we see as personality change is actually a change in priorities. The moment someone becomes successful, there is an increase in responsibilities; there is a possibility that they will not have time for old friends; a lot of people depend on them, and there is a new goal for them to pursue. The distance we see as proud may not be so.
The test for wealth should not be how much you acquired but who you become after acquiring the wealth.
