Splinterlands is a complex game, and it allows for various cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various rulesets applied, and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a great battle where I won because I used Buns the Unseen.

Featured cards

Buns the Unseen is a neutral monster that costs 11 mana. It starts with reach. It learns void armor at level 2, and silence at level 4. I think it's already a good card at level 1, but at level 2, it becomes an amazing backup tank.

Rule Set, Battle, and Plan

The rulesets this time are Eggceleration and Rise of the Commons. This means that only common/rare cards can be used, and all monsters gain +1 stats every turn. There are also 92 mana available, and I can use any splinter except for death and dragon.

The focus of this lineup is to keep my monsters alive while dealing damage and outlasting my opponent. My archon is Barthalamas for the +1 speed. Frankarsgard is my tank, followed by Buns the Unseen. Next are some damage dealers, followed by my last monster New Beluroc Aegis with taunt. My tanks along with Aegis will give my other monsters a chance to deal damage.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that this match can go either way, but I have a slight advantage due to my speed. My opponent also has Aegis so it will take a while to see who will die first.

Round 6

round 6.png
A few rounds later, my opponent has 2 monsters left, but I still have 3 of mine. It's my win because my speed is higher so I attack first.

I won the match later that round.

Conclusion

The battle did go exactly as planned. I won because I had a speed advantage over my opponent. Buns the Unseen comes with armor, so it was able to generate one extra armor per turn to reduce the damage that I took. This, combined with my speed advantage, helped me win this match.

You can see my entire match here.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
