Barthalamas Takes the Lead: My Latest Modern Battle - Splinterlands
Hey guys how is your splinterlands matches been going? I am here to share an interesting modern ranked battle with all of you. To start the battle I had to choose and confirm my Modern Bracket first.
I chose to go with the Wood Modern I bracket which basically means that I have locked myself into the division for the whole ranked season. Following that I went straight into Division 9 to start playing. And this time I got a huge 57 Mana battle. I was hoping to get another win and I successfully did win again.
Match details
Mana: 57
Elements: fire water earth life death dragon
Ruleset: Standard
Modifier: No change to standard gameplay rules or mechanics
So it was a pretty interesting battle because of the huge 57 mana and Standard ruleset. Since there was a huge mana pool both of us had the freedom to play any heavy hit cards with tanky health. Since the ruleset was Standard there was no additional modifiers that could buff or nerf certain cards. So it was necessary to bring cards with great stats and high damage potential.
Since there was a huge mana pool of 57 I decided to go with Barthalamas as my summoner. Reason I choose Barthalamas as my character because he gives +1 speed to all my cards at the start of the battle.
My lineup:
Summoner
Barthalamas
1st position: Jolius Blast
2nd position: Frankarsgard
3rd position: Chaos Furybringer
4th position: Vengeful Monk
5th position: Great Bear Druid
6th position: New Beluroc Aegis
How the Battle Went
My enemy's name was _SLBB_GENEROUSVIOLET. The battle has started and we both summoned our monster-heavy teams with a huge mana pool of 57.
As the battle has started the first initiative went to my summoner Barthalamas who gave me +1 Speed to all my cards. The extra speed was super helpful as it allowed me to attack before the enemy cards in the key moments of the battle.
On the front line Jolius Blast was doing his miracle job soaking up all the damage while New Beluroc Aegis was taunting the enemy.
Later in the battle the two teams started dealing massive amounts of damage to each other. The battle was back and forth but my speed advantage along with the proper positioning gave me the advantage over the enemy.
In the later rounds of the battle my enemy’s cards started dying one by one. My Vengeful monk was also dealing great damage using his Opportunity attack.
It was an 8 rounds battle and my team did a fantastic job executing the battle plan to perfection to secure the victory.
I was able to win again and I gained 20 ratings and 81 glint.
Looking Ahead
It was another Modern ranked battle for me and this time I managed to get the win. Choosing the right Modern bracket and going with the speed boosting summoner along with some solid Taunt and Opportunity play managed to secure me the win. Going with straightforward stat advantage over the enemy can be a great way to get the win sometimes.
