Beer Review

Hurricane is a 7.7% Imperial/Double IPA brewed by the Tree House Brewing Company in Monson, Massachusetts. I have tried many different beers from Tree House and they are always top notch. Tree House is a small batch craft brewer specializing in fine New England style IPAs. They do produce stouts, porters and a variety of other styles of beers, but the juice bombs like their Julius, Green, and Haze are what made Tree House become the legend that it is today. Unfortunately you can't find Tree House beers at your local liquor store, you need to travel to the brewery itself and wait in a long line in order to score any of this liquid gold. But it sure is worth it! Hurricane is a DIPA hopped primarily with Simcoe and Citra giving it an earthy, citrus flavor.

The Can

Hurricane is served in a full pint can. It features the typical Tree House Brewing Company logo written in various tones of orange on a tangerine colored background. Even just the can itself gives off the impression that this beer is bursting with citrus flavor. As always, when you see a can with a Tree House on it, you know there's going to be delicious beer inside.

The Beer

The Hurricane is a deliciously juicy and hoppy double IPA made mostly with a blend of Simcoe and Citra hops. As I poured it into a glass I admired it's pungent smell and bright yellowish orange color. At first sip, the beer tasted like mandarin orange and pineapple. It was complexly fruity and refreshingly crisp. A truly delicious and easy-to-drink double IPA weighing in at 7.7% alcohol/volume. I look forward to trying more beers from Tree House Brewing Company in the future.
