So many times in life I have gone according to the streams of life, wherever they took me, I went. In contrast, there were also the most vivid moments of my life where I remember the drive, the desire and many more things. I felt alive, truly alive. It was not about doing something others wanted or following the conventional wisdom. Everything was way more simplistic, I just wanted to create.
Would I call my self creative? Probably not, not in the sense of artists, musicians, type of creative. I have been creative more in the sense of my imagination. I had previously talked about some thoughts I had regarding the topic. As a quick reminder, I used to run with sticks pretending that they were a sword or a magic wand, whatever my mind could desire. I remember pretending like the wooden sticks were guns and me and my brothers were playing cops and robbers, name might be different in English.
The imagination is simply put, the ability to see in one's mind something that doesn't exist but might be possible to bring it to life. Writing up this post uses this wonderful part of my being, I write up something that didn't exist. I create words together to make a story.
In the last 2 months or so, a lot of things have changed. Besides me looking to buy a property which is a massive thing to even attempt in modern times without any external financial aid e.g. family. Top it all of with me learning more about the DeFi space, buying my first hardware wallet and understanding how impactful it is to have full control of the funds I have. Recently I have also seen flaws in my own personality and behaviour that have held me back. The worst part is, that most of the reasoning for the behaviour is so old that it blatantly is not true anymore but behaves as if it was.
I have allowed myself to train my creative side, allowed myself to go for things. Sure, I will still have my job for who knows how long but as things stand, the job is becoming more of a safety net, something that buys me time to work on my own projects. I sincerely wish that other people would also stop for even a moment a day, and do something that they desired as a kid. With time, this skill will grow and improve and rather than focusing on past dreams, new ones will come up. The joy is in the doing not necessarily from achieving. Achieving is fun but it doesn't last, the doing, always stays.
