It's Wednesday again, and it's time for one more walk. This time we moved to the forest. Actually, we drove closer to the sea, then chose one of the many forest paths to the shore. And you know, the autumn forest here is really nice.
Vėl trečiadienis – metas dar vienam pasivaikščiojimui. Šįkart patraukėme į mišką. Tiksliau, privažiavome arčiau jūros, o tada pasirinkome vieną iš daugelio miško takelių, vedančių link pakrantės. Ir žinote, rudeniškas miškas čia – tiesiog nuostabus.>
For me, summer is for rest, while autumn is for pulling oneself back together into a whole. It is a time when a natural desire to step up arises. Of course, there is no strict obligation - my school and university days are long gone, and my children have finished their own studies too. Hence, the arrival of autumn on the calendar no longer marks a mandatory new beginning. Yet, something shifts deep within. It feels as though the very air helps one shake off the lingering, carefree spirit of summer, focus, and step into a new phase with a much higher quality of energy - not through the kind of grand New Year’s resolutions that evaporate by mid-January, but through a calm, mature, inner discipline. That's why I love autumn - it's my golden season. This is a time to gain clarity, understand what truly matters, and refocus with a serious intent.
Man vasara skirta poilsiui, o ruduo – tam, kad vėl surinktum save į visumą.
There is something truly enchanting about this aesthetic change of seasons. It is wonderful how autumn transforms our attire, our mood, and, of course, the natural world around us. Richer tones and deeper shades emerge, while conversations take on a greater depth of meaning. Even the incessant rain or the sun, which now behaves like a capricious lady, possesses a distinct, unique character. A morning gust of wind brings in air that is cleaner and more invigorating, while the lengthening evenings dispel the hurried pace of summer, making room for what is truly authentic.
October filters out the noise, leaving room for what holds true value. This naturally encourages a slower pace while simultaneously sharpening the mind. It is a time to pour a cup of hot coffee, open a blank page, and, free from any external pressure, set new benchmarks for yourself. Or perhaps simply wander through nature, through a forest carpeted in gold, to gather your thoughts and savor those wonderful moments that, the instant they arrive, already begin to slip into the past. With its golden mantle, October makes no empty promises; rather, it restores the desire to act with both precision and style.
Spalis tarsi atfiltruoja triukšmą, palikdamas vietos tam, kas turi tikrąją vertę. Tai natūraliai skatina sulėtinti tempą, kartu aštrinant protą. Tai metas įsipilti puodelį karštos kavos, atversti tuščią lapą ir, be jokio išorinio spaudimo, nusistatyti sau naujus orientyrus. O gal tiesiog pasivaikščioti gamtoje, miške, nuklotame auksiniu kilimu – susidėlioti mintis ir pasimėgauti tomis nuostabiomis akimirkomis, kurios, vos atėjusios, jau pradeda grimzti į praeitį. Savo auksiniu apdaru spalis nedalija tuščių pažadų; priešingai – jis sugrąžina norą veikti tiksliai ir stilingai.>
The sea was stormy this time; waves crashed against the shore, washing over the stones lying there. I don’t know why, but I prefer walking along our wild beaches, where there is a mix of sand and stones underfoot rather than the golden-sand beaches we usually choose in the summer. It is here, on wild beaches, that I discover the beauty of autumn, surrounded by the untamed power of nature. Here, I realise that nature is far stronger than I am and than any human.
These past few days have been full of chaos in my life. I’ve felt like I can’t keep up with anything: rushing around like a madwoman, banging my bike against the walls while carrying it up the stairs, dropping my scarf, arriving late to the pool, and then powering through laps, gasping for air while weighed down by unfinished tasks. Honestly, I just can’t get everything done: work and big ambitions are eating into my relationships, and even when I’m with someone, I can’t give them my full attention because my mind is still stuck on work. It’s been a totally crazy October - messages keep piling up, unanswered, while I just keep grumbling about how much there is to do! That’s why this walk of ours came at the perfect time.
I don’t need any advice, because I know this will pass. It might seem like everyone else has everything perfectly under control, but I want to say: often, I certainly don’t. While I truly enjoy what I do, and I really love it, my relationships, both with life itself and with other people, suffer as a result. So, right now, I’m trying to find some balance out in nature! Honestly, though, it would be a real shame not to take the time to admire the trees and this beautiful autumn!
Man nereikia jokių patarimų, nes žinau, kad tai praeis. Gali atrodyti, jog kiti viską puikiai valdo, bet noriu pasakyti: dažnai aš tikrai nevaldau. Nors iš tiesų mėgstu tai, ką darau, ir man tai labai patinka, dėl to kenčia mano santykiai – tiek su pačiu gyvenimu, tiek su kitais žmonėmis. Tad dabar, būdama gamtoje, bandau rasti pusiausvyrą! Tiesą sakant, būtų tikrai gaila neskirti laiko pasigrožėti medžiais ir šiuo nuostabiu rudeniu!>
I don’t expect any major drama from life anymore, either - I have no need for it. I just want to hold onto that tiny spark of hope, that belief that the world can still become a better place. That perhaps a day will come when there is no more war, and instead of arguing, people will simply understand one another. That children will grow up in peace, and the elderly will be treated with respect. And that after every storm, no matter how terrible, the sun will rise again, as if nothing had ever happened. That’s not much to ask, is it? But for me, it is enough to feel that this life has meaning.
Tačiau man to pakanka, kad jausčiau – šis gyvenimas turi prasmę.>
On the way back from the seaside, we stopped at a café in another coastal spot for a cup of coffee, watching through the window as the sea grew wild in the distance. And the coffee was delicious. And Wednesday’s walk was a balm for my soul. I love October; I love autumn...
With Love, 2026.
