Shapes and Textures
Join me on a stroll through the shapes and textures found in one of the world’s most iconic and representative spaces. I’m returning to the University City to capture in images what it means to create architecture with a touch of art—a place where nothing is placed at random and where nature and concrete come together as part of a whole.

Acompáñame a dar un paseo entre las formas y texturas que encontramos en uno de los espacios para aquellos más emblemáticos y representativos de todo el mundo. Vuelvo a la Ciudad Universitaria para capturar en imágenes lo que significa hacer arquitectura con un toque de arte, en donde nada está colocado al azar y en donde la naturaleza y el concreto se comportan como parte de un todo.

Built back in the late 1950s, the buildings that make up this academic enclave tend to follow a pattern defined by straight lines and geometric shapes—which is not surprising, given that this was the dominant style of the era— but what is truly fantastic is that this has been perfectly complemented by the abstract nature of the surroundings, creating unique compositions and a symbiosis that were envisioned from the very beginning.
Construidos por allá a finales de los años 50, los edificios que conforman este enclave académico suelen tener un patrón moldeado por las líneas rectas y las figuras geométricas, lo cual no es de sorprender, ya que se trata del estilo que marcaba la pauta en esa época, pero lo realmente fantástico es que esto se haya complementado perfectamente con lo abstracto de la naturaleza, generando encuadres únicos y simbiosis que fueron pensadas desde el primer momento.
The buildings were constructed not to clash with their surroundings, but to blend into an existing reality, respecting the flow of the wind and weather conditions, and always with the intention that everyone who enters this space would feel comfort, tranquility, and peace. Since this is a high-level educational institution, the architecture and its surroundings must foster an environment conducive to the development of ideas, the acquisition of knowledge, and the contribution to both individual and collective growth.
Las facultades fueron levantadas no para romper con el entorno, sino para asimilarse dentro de una realidad previa, respetando el paso del viento, las condiciones climáticas y siempre pensando en que cada persona que pisara este espacio sintiera en él confort, tranquilidad y sosiego. Puesto que, al tratarse de una institución educativa de alto nivel, la arquitectura y su entorno deben generar un ambiente propicio para el desarrollo de las ideas, la adquisición de conocimientos y la contribución hacia un crecimiento tanto individual como colectivo.
