A Castle in the City
Caracas is a city that has the inexhaustible capacity to surprise us, this because in its interior we can find an endless number of peculiarities that would be impossible to discover in any other city of the continent or of the world, this capital stands out for its continuous advance towards development and modernity, in it we can find the most avant-garde and technological buildings of the country, But at the same time it also hides historical places and spaces that seem to have been taken directly from medieval Europe. Thus, on one of the hills to the west of the city stands a solid and silent construction that is characterised by its towers, its interesting finishes and its shape that at first glance makes us think of a real fortress.

Un Castillo en la Ciudad
Caracas es una ciudad que tiene la inagotable capacidad de sorprendernos, esto debido a que en su interior podemos encontrar un sinfín de peculiaridades que sería imposible descubrir en cualquier otra urbe del continente o del mundo, esta capital se destaca por su continuo avance hacia el desarrollo y la modernidad, en ella podemos encontrar los edificios más vanguardistas y tecnológicos del país, pero al mismo tiempo también esconde lugares históricos y espacios que parecieran sacados directamente de la Europa medieval, es así como en una de las colinas del oeste de la ciudad se erige de forma sólida y silenciosa una construcción que se caracteriza por sus torres, sus interesantes acabados y su forma que a primera vista nos hace pensar en una verdadera fortaleza.
It is the Cuartel de la Montaña, a place where the general command of the Bolivarian National Militia is located and at the same time it guards a platoon of the guard of honour of an auxiliary office of the presidency of the republic. Without a doubt, it is a space of great political, strategic and military importance, but also its exquisite eclectic style architecture gives us a unique and replaceable piece of the national historical heritage.
Se trata del Cuartel de la Montaña, un lugar en donde se encuentra asentada la comandancia general de la Milicia Nacional Bolivariana y al mismo tiempo resguarda a un pelotón de la guardia de honor de un despacho auxiliar de la presidencia de la república, usted es Sin lugar a duda un espacio de suma importancia a nivel político, estratégico y militar, pero también su exquisita arquitectura de estilo ecléctico nos regala una pieza única y reemplazable del acervo histórico nacional.
It is a monumental structure, which has all the characteristics of a fortress of past times, which remains fully functional and effectively meets all the needs of modern times, but to reach this point it has also been necessary to include within its spaces a series of details and modifications that have resulted in the construction of more modern structures around it, But in spite of being quite striking contrasts in Caracas we are used to this type of situation and to be honest I don't think that this breaks with the essence of the whole military complex, but on the contrary it is an irrefutable proof that the whole city marches to the same rhythm and under the same architectural optic, which seeks not to stagnate and at the same time to continue being useful to society.
Es una estructura monumental, la cual cuenta con todas las características propias de una fortaleza de tiempos pasados, la cual se mantiene plenamente funcional y cumple con eficacia todas las necesidades de los tiempos modernos, pero para llegar a este punto también ha sido necesario incluir dentro de sus espacios una serie de detalles y modificaciones que han traído como consecuencia la construcción de estructuras más modernas a su alrededor, pero a pesar de ser contrastes bastante llamativos en Caracas estamos acostumbrados a este tipo de situaciones y para ser sinceros No creo que esto rompa con la esencia propia de todo el complejo militar, sino por al contrario es una muestra fehaciente de que toda la ciudad marcha a un mismo ritmo y bajo una misma óptica arquitectónica, la cual Busca no estancarse al mismo tiempo seguir siendo útil a la sociedad.
