Driving through the streets of Caracas means encountering a truly unique city, where architectural styles seem to compete with one another, each conveying its own story, most striving to stand out within their surroundings, and all racing against time. Some have survived to the present day in perfect condition, but others are already showing the signs of wear and tear.

Rodar por las calles de Caracas es encontrarse con una ciudad realmente única, en donde los estilos constructivos parecen luchar entre sí, cada uno transmitiéndonos su propia historia, la mayoría intentando resaltar dentro de su propio entorno y todos luchando en una carrera contra el tiempo. Algunos llegan a nuestros días de manera perfecta, pero otros ya están cubiertos por el deterioro del tiempo.
In this city, every corner has its own personality; every tower strives to rise with bold lines and idyllic finishes, yet all of this takes place under a sky that’s almost always dotted with incredible cloud formations. Here, trees line the streets everywhere, creating a pattern that has endured over the years—a testament to the fact that nature also abounds in this concrete jungle.
En esta ciudad, cada esquina tiene su propia personalidad, cada torre busca elevarse con trazos firmes y acabados idílicos, pero todo esto sucede bajo un cielo que normalmente siempre está moteado por un increíble diseño de nubes. Acá las calles siempre cuentan con árboles por doquier y todo esto genera un patrón que se ha mantenido a través de los años y es que en esta selva de concreto también abunda la naturaleza.
This time, I was riding shotgun while my aunt was behind the wheel, so there wasn’t much time to frame the shots well, think through each scene, and shoot at the perfect moment; which is why this photo series stems from a slightly more abstract idea, where each shot captures the spontaneity of the moment—and that’s how unconventional images are created, though from my perspective, they resulted in a rather interesting experience.
En esta oportunidad, yo iba de copiloto mientras mi tía tomaba el control del volante, por lo tanto no había mucho tiempo para hacer buenos encuadres, pensar en cada escena y disparar en el momento ideal; es por ello que esta serie fotográfica surge de una idea un poco más abstracta, en donde cada toma es muestra de la espontaneidad del momento y es así como se generan imágenes poco convencionales, pero que desde mi punto de vista resultaron en una experiencia bastante interesante.
