Sometimes the best postcard views come from the most unexpected moments. While visiting one of my cousins at his new home, I realized that the living room window offered a spectacular panoramic view of the city, and that’s how I stumbled upon a rarely seen view of western Caracas, where the mountain appears in all its splendor, irregularly outlining the horizon, while the geometrically shaped buildings create their own landscape within this geographical valley.

Mirando Desde El Oeste
A veces las mejores postales surgen de los momentos más inesperados, mientras realizaba una visita a uno de mis primos en su nueva casa me di cuenta que por la ventana de sus salas se obtiene una panorámica espectacular de la ciudad, es así como me encontré con un ángulo poco observado del oeste caraqueño, en donde la montaña se ve con su máximo esplendor delineando el horizonte de forma irregular, mientras que los edificios con formas geométricas crean su propio paisaje dentro de este valle geográfico.
Unfortunately, by the time I took these photos, my old phone was already malfunctioning severely, which made my task considerably more difficult, but overall I managed to capture the essence of this unique landscape. It’s important to note that this part of the city isn’t considered a tourist destination, yet it’s an area that hides breathtaking views, where you can see the spontaneous growth of the urban landscape contrasting with the power of nature.
Desafortunadamente, para el momento de estas fotografías, mi anterior teléfono ya estaba presentando severas fallas, lo cual hizo que mi labor fuera bastante más complicada, pero en términos generales logré captar la esencia de este paisaje único. Es importante resaltar que esta zona de la ciudad no está considerada dentro de los espacios turísticos, pero al mismo tiempo es un área que esconde visuales impresionantes, en donde se aprecia el crecimiento espontáneo del espacio urbano, mientras se contrasta con el poder de la naturaleza.
No matter where we look, the mountain seems to be watching over us from all four cardinal directions, but on this occasion, it is its north face that offers us incredible views, as its slopes, cliffs, and irregularities cast shadows and create nuances that enrich the visual appeal of each image, making them come alive with their own personality and conveying energies that are the very essence of artistic creation.
No importa hacia dónde miremos, la montaña pareciera estar cuidándonos desde los cuatro puntos cardinales, pero en esta ocasión su fachada norte es la que nos regala postales increíbles, ya que sus laderas, cortes e irregularidades se convierten en sombras y matices que alimentan la visual de cada imagen, haciendo que estas vibren con personalidad propia y nos transmitan energías que son la esencia del trabajo artístico.
